School Safety Plans
Board of Education Goal, adopted November 14, 2011:
The district will maintain current safety standards while exploring and implementing new ways to enhance student and staff safety.
School safety planning is an ongoing project. Plans are reviewed regularly to ensure that they reflect the best thinking of the experts and that they are still applicable.
The plans are discussed with many interested parties, including students, teachers, support staff, site councils, and administrators. In addition, district leaders collaborate with outside agencies such as the Jefferson County Health Department, Perry Police Department, Jefferson County Emergency Management, and the Kansas Center for Safe and Prepared schools.
Patrons with suggestions for improving the plans are encouraged to contact the building principal or the superintendent.
